A 17-year-old Malden boy was stabbed to death inside the La Quinta Inn in Somerville early Saturday morning.

Somerville police say an altercation broke out inside one the hotel rooms on Cummings Street around 2 a.m.

Two were stabbed, including Romeo Murray, who was pronounced dead at a Boston hospital. The second victim is in serious condition, officials said.

Later Saturday morning, police arrested 20-year-old Joseph Palmisano on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.

Police say they believe the double stabbing was an isolated incident, saying the victims and Palmisano knew each other.

Anyone with further information about the stabbing is asked to contact Somerville police at 617-625-1212 or State police at 781-897-6650.

I just want to say...I know you guys are joking but my son at this very moment is completely heart broken because his friend was stabbed to death. It's not a funny situation or something that should be joked about. The boy murdered was a very popular and good natured kid...and he's gone. This boy has parents who's lives will never be the same; my son is sitting here trying to make sense out of the senseless. Maybe that should be thought about before people write heartless and mindless comments. I hope you never have to lose a child or a friend to senseless acts of violence. :321::321:

Hey listen toots, 2 members made innocuous comments about the dump known as the La Quinta Inn, not the incident itself or the parties involved.
If you're going to lecture our members on good manners you might want to drop the one finger salute.
That's a lot more mindless (AND RUDE) than an off the cuff comment about that shit-hole on Cummings Street.

Artist dont come in here start pointing fingers...In our line of work we often joke to help us cope with the senseless violence we witness....Maybe we would do less of it if responsible families looked after their own, and didn't let their kids hang at a hotel in Somerville to booze, and smoke...So check your own laundry please....

Making a humorous comment about a dumpy hotel is not insensitive.

Now, if I told you to go fuck yourself, that might be considered insensitive.

Who the hell are you to come here and point fingers and call names?! At NO point was anything said about your sons friend although much could be said for the sons parents for not having a stronger hold on what their son did or where he was at 2 am!
The men and women on this site work hard to keep things light because of all the crap they see day in and day out. I only hope you never have to see half of what they do.
As a matter of fact, the next time you have to carry a dead child, or a live child who's been beaten, molested, or neglected, try to revive someone who's died tragically, or even for that matter had to arrest one human who has killed another come see us.
Until you get what these people go through, don't you DARE come in here acting all f'ing holier then thow!!
And btw... :321::321: Right back atcha babe!

Artist,
You're a piece of work.
Your son is heartbroken after losing a friend "my son is sitting here trying to make sense out of the senseless." and you're online whining?
He's crying his eyes out and you take the time to sign up to a message board to post comments to people you don't know, will never meet and have absolutely nothing to do with you??

Wtf?? How about taking care of your son!

Instead of worrying about anonymous posts in cyberspace how about having a talk with your son? Maybe something like...oh...I don't know....how wrong it is for 17 yr olds to be hanging out at 2am in a roach motel??

Stop worrying about what's going on here and parent your son, for chrissakes.

Sounds like he needs it.

I think I have about 15 homicides under my belt in the last three years or so.

Outside of the baby that was beat to death by the new boyfriend...

I'm still looking for an innocent victim...

Motel...Ho-Tel... same difference.

I see alot of people attacking one woman's comment in this thread and that is not cool. We all have opinions ,it's true in this line of work you have to joke like that because it happens alot it comes wit the job but I see comments telling this woman to shut the F up and I find that very selfish we all have opinions.

Ya, Redsox1, opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one. Some (like yours) are bigger than others. Shaddap, ya noob, before the MCBB rolls to a stop to put you aboard. Beep beep, what's that I hear?

Too bad everybody worries about this stuff after the fact.
Shame on her for having her 17 year old kid in a dump of a motel.

She should just be happy it wasn't her kid because next time she might not be as lucky.

If I found my kid at a dump like that, he'd be walking home no matter how far and how cold it was. I'd also be up on the sidewalk edging him with bumper of my car all the way home.

It's called tough love.

But today's parents and kids will probably put up a shrine and have a beer and weed party, celebrating what a great kid he was when half of them probably never met him.

Save the drama...
