That sucks, but its negligent on his part to leave merchandise at that value in the display window. If you ever walk through downtown crossing late at night all those stores either have a gate down and/or merchandise put away.

They were not in a store window, they were in a display case inside the store.
The news tonight said the total theft was over 30 grand.

I still gotta ask why it wasn't moved either in a vault or a more secure location. Not to many stores leave stuff out especially if its gonna rack up to that amount, simply because of incidents like this.

Two grand or 30 grand? Either way, i'm thinking the Saltzman's have some splainin' to do.
I managed two big chains to put myself through college before I got on the job. It's nothing to leave 6 watches VALUED:rolleyes: at two grand in the cases (Bulova, Citizen) because cost is a whole other animal but 30 grand (Rolex, Tag Heuer, Omega) wreaks of either negligence or an insurance scheme. It's a tough business in this economy.

I guess you have not worked security long enough to understand youcan not put everything in the store into the safe or vault.
Only 6 years so not that long. I understand you can't move everything, but some stores can/do. By the looks of it its not a huge store, so they could easily lock everything on the floor away. Just my opinion on the matter.

I have to agree, it's the second hit in 6 months for them.
