Haha I like that cartoon. As much as I'd love to relish in the fact that we're 13 1/2 games ahead of the Yankees right now, and that they're not even in contention for the wild card right now, it's not even JUNE yet... It's too early to say we're going to win. But even if we play 500 ball from here on out, we'll still win at least 95 games or so. Not too shabby...

14 1/2 now! Let's face it, it's not gonna stay this high or however high it gets, but it's still nice to see. As long as we finish ahead of them and in 1st place for a change, I'll be happy!

2007 World Series Champions. The guy from Jordan's Furniture is going to have to make a claim on that insurance policy he has that allows him to give away the free furniture. Go out and buy that love seat today....tell them Dr. Magoo sent you. :)
I'm not one to drag out old posts, but I thought this one was appropriate this morning. For the record (even though Andy laughed at me) I called this one on April 1, 2007. I hope everyone here took my advice and got that Love seat at Jordans.

What a great year. Now, on to the Patriots!!!!

Series Win Means Free Furniture For Thousands

Millions Due To Jordan's Customers

BOSTON -- Thousands of Boston Red Sox fans are sitting pretty.

That's because back in March they took advantage of a local furniture store's promotional offer for full rebates if the Red Sox won the World Series.

Jordan's Furniture promised free sofas, chairs and beds to customers who bought between March 7 and April 16, if the Red Sox won the title.

"We had some customers spend over $100,000 for a whole house full of furniture to get in on the deal,'' Eliot Tatelman, Jordan's chief executive officer, said.

Jordan's took about 30,000 orders during the promotion. Tatelman hasn't disclosed how much the rebates will be, but he won't have to pay it. He bought an insurance policy to cover the cost.

The promotional deal is insured for more than $20 million, according to Furniture Today, a weekly industry publication.

Callers to Jordan's were being directed to its Web site for information on applying for rebates.

Twice in 3 years. My kids are spoiled.

At their age I had to wait 34 years.

Too bad we couldn't enjoy it better with these games starting so late.

Twice in 3 years. My kids are spoiled.

At their age I had to wait 34 years.

I told my 18 year old how lucky he was to be seeing this. I had to wait 37 years for the first championship. He has 2 in 4 years. I suffered through the 1975, 1978, 1986 and 2003 playoffs. And that is nothing compared to the older generations.

As usual, the kids today don't know how lucky they are or how good they have things. And hey, I was only 2 games off my original regular season prediction at the beginning of the post. Yeah Sox! :GNANA: :t:
