Re: Man Who Shot Officer's Killer Has Court Outburst

Floyd has not been sentenced yet; prosecutors are recommending a yearlong sentence, with six months in prison and six months suspended. Judge John Cyr said he would take the matter under advisement.
A year (6/6) for a threat to shoot someone? I hear those threats shouted weekly from one banger to another, and they actually follow through on the threat sometimes.
Floyd should have whipped out the "Get Out Of Jail Free" card he was given after shooting that scumbag Kenney. Not only did Floyd kill a cop killer, he saved the State of NH a boatload of money on a trial and incarceration costs for 50+ years. He should get a pass on this trivial BS. Just my humble opinion for what it's worth. HC

From what I've read and heard Floyd is very unstable, has had his share of run-ins with the police and is generally not a very nice person.

My gut tells me he shot Kenney because he saw the chance to legally shoot someone, not because of any altruistic reasons.

Your gut is right on the money. I would bet a paycheck that one day Floyd is probably going to try to kill a cop. I am still glad that he shot that little punk Like Kenney, but that doesn't make him a good guy.

Man Who Shot N.H. Officer's Killer In Court Again

LITTLETON, N.H. (WBZ) ― An ex-Marine who killed a police officer's killer last year in New Hampshire was back in court -- for the second straight day.

Gregory Floyd of Easton shouted obscenities and waved his cane Tuesday in court in Littleton after being convicted of threatening a neighbor. On Wednesday, he returned to face three misdemeanors stemming from that outburst.

Floyd -- who is 50 -- made national news a year ago when he jumped into a horrific scene in which a 24-year-old motorist had fatally wounded a police officer and was about to drive over him. Kenney picked up police Cpl. Bruce McKay's gun and fatally shot the motorist, Liko Kenney.

Authorities quickly ruled the shooting justifiable.

On Tuesday, Floyd was convicted in Littleton District Court of threatening a neighbor when she refused to back up on a snow-blocked road in December. Afterward, he yelled and used obscenities in court, threatening officers.

Wednesday's hearing was in Haverhill. Floyd was charged with assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest for his court outburst.

He claimed to a judge Wednesday that police officers have done nothing about death threats he claims were made against him after he shot and killed Kenney. However, the Attorney General's Office said it has not received any reports of any death threats against him.

Prosecutors have asked the judge to reopen a previous case against Floyd in which he was sentenced to 1 to 3 years in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting a police officer in an unrelated incident. That sentence was suspended pending good behavior for 10 years. Prosecutors say Floyd should have to serve that time following his recent court outburst.

Floyd's criminal history goes back even further. According to court documents, he was convicted of selling marijuana to an undercover police officer in Georgia in 1981.

Man Released On Bail Pending Trial On Court Outburst

Floyd Gained Attention After Shooting Man Who Killed Police Officer

HAVERHILL, N.H. -- Gregory Floyd, the New Hampshire man who killed a police officer's killer in northern New Hampshire, has been released from jail as he awaits trial for a courthouse outburst.

Floyd is accused of threatening and punching officers and resisting arrest after being convicted in April of threatening to shoot a neighbor. The Easton man has been in jail since April.

Monday, Floyd was released on $80,000 personal recognizance bail.

The release came after the neighbor Floyd was convicted of threatening collapsed with chest pains in the courthouse. Alma Jean Boisvert was taken to the hospital and released. She said later that she collapsed when she realized the judge was contemplating releasing Floyd.

Floyd captured the national spotlight in May 2007 after shooting and killing Liko Kenney, the man who killed Franconia Police Cpl. Bruce McKay.
