A 16 year old Limerick youth is charged with engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour toward gardai following the incident in May.

He also faces 4 other charges.

The 16 year old was brought to Henry Street Garda Station on a Public Order charge on May 28th.

While in the reception area he is alleged to have spat on a commemorative bust of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe who was shot dead in the line of of duty during a post office robbery in Adare in 1996.

The youth is also alleged to have told Gardai there isn`t enough of them dead.

A written apology has since been furnished by the accused who is also charged with possession of articles on the same date, and with the thefts of 2 vehicles and another public order charge on separate dates between March and June.

Judge Tom O`Donnell expressed concern that when he gets in trouble he gets in to a lot trouble.

He sought a probation report and adjourned the case until the 30th of September.
