A friend of mine wants to email a police department to ask them a question.

He saw a movie last night.
The guy killed someone. He washed the walls with Amonia.
The police could not positivly identify the DNA from the blood.

He wants to know if this is true or false.
I asked him "Why do you want to know this" he said he is just curious and wants to ask the source.

I told him to look it up on the internet.
He told me "No I want to ask the police via EMAIL"

What do you think he should do ?
Again I told him to look it up on the internet and he got all pissed and told me he was going to email the Boston Police and ask them the question above ?
What are your thoughts on this ?

Ask your friend to put himself in the shoes of the BPD and then see if he would help some random person learn how to hide DNA evidence.

WOW
what an ass.
Here is our conversation over IM. I am BEN he is Charlie to protect him.

Ben Charlie did you get my email ?
Ben did you get it ?
Charlie Yeah, well forgive me if I'm not inclined to value these guys opinion all to highly.
Ben did u read the whole thing ?
Charlie I did
Ben and you are still going to waste the police's time ?
Charlie Listen dick, if it's something I want to know it's not a waste of time now is it.
Charlie I don't really care what your group of wannabe cop friends think to be honest
Ben Even after reading the whole thing ? you are still going to do it.. hey thats fine ace....... good luck.. please forward your response to me. thanks.
Ben Again as I said before these guys are all certified Law enforcement officers.
Charlie Your worried about me wasting the polices time by e-mailing them my question, we apparently several of your "cop" friends had plently of time to answer yours so why not answer mine.
Ben because they are probably off the clock at home or on their breaks replying to the message board.
Charlie and you know these are all certified Law enforcement officers how exactly??
Ben it says it next their names.
Charlie Oh, and that means a lot huh??
Ben hey if you dont believe me thats fine
Charlie Your so guliable it's retarded
Charlie I'm done with this
Ben I just think you are wasting a police officers time when you can research plenty of law enforcement information online. or hey why not go to a library dick
Ben If you have no faith in the internet. if you are so smart go to a library. there are a TON of legal books .... try there first ! !
Charlie Nope, I'll just write the cops
Charlie Why should I do all that work when I can just call or write.
Charlie Talk about wasting time, the cops will either say, "yes that is true, No it's not true, or we aren't telling you that.
Charlie No harm, no foul
Ben Again you are gonna waste their time........ they have better things to do like keep the streets safe but if you feel that you are more important than public safety than go right ahead ace.
Charlie Right, the guy answering the phone or reading the mail is keeping the streets safe, think about what your saying
Ben yes its not his job to answer your stupid question about something you saw on tv
Charlie Actually, yes it's his job to answer questions from the community
Charlie stupid or not
Ben Ok fine. you win again. let me know what they say okay ?
Ben Talk to you later
Charlie Later

I say you give him your blessing, and tell him to forward his question, along with his name, address, phone number, and d.o.b to the Boston Police. I am sure he will get a fast response. It may not be in the form of an email response, but I am sure someone will be in touch with him.

Why doesn't he just contact a high school science teacher? He'd probably get a quicker response. I'm sure he'd still be treated like the local village idiot at the high school as well, but probably with a lot more compassion than he would receive from the Boston Police.

My answer is No, unless I wanted them to respond to it by knocking at my door and asking me why I needed to know that infomation.

GMACK24,

Maybe you misinterpereted his question. Give him the following adice from me.......

Mix the amonia & some clorox in a small enclosed bathroom, preferably with the window closed. Tell him to get good and close to the surface & scrub away like hell. Make sure he has a cordless phone for easy access to 911.

Maybe all he wants to do is scrub off the DNA he leaves behind in the shower along with the Lubriderm lotion!!
