My wife worked 3 jobs so I could put myself through.
That's a good wife
All kidding aside, I hope you did something real nice for her with the first detail check.
:stupid: I hope when my time comes that I'll be that lucky...

Work your ass off before you go..... details, details, details. Good advise to stock up enough cash to pay all of your bills for the five months or so your in the academy. I know a few guys in my academy took out personal loans to get by.

yeah i figured that much. Hey southside can Ur wife drop mine a line. I started an academy fund while i am over here. 600 bones a pay check, $1200/mo. i still have 12 months over here. I hope i am gonna b OK. the wife is working now, i might move back into my dads house so we won't have to pay rent. all my unsecured debt should be gone by then, but i still will have 2 cars & insurance. it will depend how my wife is working, being a hair dresser her financial success is directly related to how much of a clientèle she has.

I haven't ad the chance to get a detail check yet.....still waiting for a job. I graduated on Dec. 17 2004. I have my background being done by a couple departments and I pray one will give me a chance. My wife will be rewarded for the sacrifices she made for me. She has supported me, our 2 kids and my step daughter. We didn't have a mortgage so that helped (still living with the in-laws). The toughest part was making sure we had health insurance (which had to be purchased out of pocket because her jobs were all contract jobs that pay under the table) this also meant having to put money aside for the IRS. Other than that we paid just enough on credit cards so we wouldn't be late and we spent just enough on food. I will say this, I broke my tooth while at the academy and my mouth began to swell up in class....I had no idea what I was going to do because I didn't have dental. A fellow classmate of mine found out about my situation and without me knowing he got the class to chip in and pay for my bill. So I can honestly say that I had 44 fellow classmeates who really helped out and I thank them all very much. Any questions feel free to ask.
