COVENTRY, Conn. (AP) - Police have charged a former employee of a Coventry group home for people with mental disabilities with sexually assaulting a female resident.
Sixty-4-year-old Thomas Goold of Vernon was arraigned Wednesday on charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct.
Coventry police say Goold had a disciplinary record that included several allegations of inappropriate interactions with female residents.
Police first received a call about Goold, then an employee of the Coventry Group Home on Stonehouse Road, on Dec. 26, 2007.
A program supervisor told police that another employee of the home had seen Goold inappropriately touching a female resident.
Goold has been released on $10,000 bail and ordered to have no contact with the victim. He also may not visit any facility serving people with disabilities.
