YORKTOWN, N.Y. (AP) -- A New York motorist told police that she was pulled over by a car with flashing lights, then robbed at gunpoint by the driver.
State police say the woman was driving north on the Taconic Parkway in Yorktown when a Chevrolet Tahoe with flashing blue lights on the dashboard pulled her over. The SUV had no police markings.
They say the driver of the Tahoe walked up to the woman and showed a handgun, then took her purse and drove off. The victim was not injured.
The police are asking for help from anyone who may have seen the incident, which happened at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday to call them at 914-742-6400.

I believe you're right Jeepgirl, however, IIRC (and it's been a long time since I've been through the area), some departments around NYC may use blue lights instead of red lights for police - unless I'm confusing it with NJ or something.

I know the majority of the state is red lights for police.
