GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - A 23-year-old man who allegedly tossed a baby out a car window died Sunday from the injuries he sustained in a crash following a police chase, the Brown County Sheriff's Department said.

Dana Bettin, of Omro, was chased from the Oshkosh area Thursday after he was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute there.

With the child of the alleged victim in the car, Bettin rammed a
Wisconsin State Patrol cruiser near Appleton and continued north on U.S. 41 into Brown County, police said.

At one point, he slowed and threw the infant, strapped in a child restraint seat, onto the roadway and fled. The chase hit speeds up to 100 mph. Other officers stopped and retrieved the child, who was unharmed.

The chase ended on U.S. 41 after Bettin had a minor collision with a vehicle and then crashed into an unoccupied Brown County squad car. He was pinned underneath the car he was driving after it rolled.

Brown County Sheriff's Lt. Keith Deneys said Bettin died Sunday around 4 p.m.

Amazing the child was not hurt. God was watching over that baby. He took care of the driver too.
