HINGHAM -
A man with a long history of drunken driving arrests led officers on a wild ride from Rockland into Hingham before crashing his car into a tree, police said.
John DeVincentis, 46, of Weymouth, crashed three separate times, twice into other vehicles and then into a tree in front of a house on Summer Street, before being arrested at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, police said. No one else was injured.
DeVincentis drove into another vehicle at a liquor store in Rockland, then drove away and hit another car on the way out of town, police said.
"He was probably going well over 50 mph," when he crashed in Hingham, Officer David Jones said.
DeVincentis was taken to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was scheduled to be arraigned today in his hospital bed on charges of sixth offense drunken driving and driving to endanger. Decincentis was listed in good condition this morning.

HINGHAM -

A 46-year-old Weymouth man accused of drunken driving for the seventh time will remain behind bars through Christmas.
A dangerousness hearing for John J. DeVincentis Jr. was scheduled for Monday in Hingham District Court, but it was postponed to Dec. 29.
DeVincentis, of 186 Westminster Road, Weymouth, was arrested following an Oct. 28 crash in Hingham. Despite six prior convictions in Massachusetts, he had a valid driver's license because his criminal history was not accurately recorded on his driving record.
