How the hell do they even get the stuff in the first place?
Isn't N2O a controlled substance?
Or is auto grade more readily and legally available than medical grade?

you can get a nitrous bottle filled at any welding supply store, and many high performance automotive shops fill tanks also. that guy wired the bottle heater(used to keep the bottle at a certain pressure) so that it was on constantly, the pressure built up to high and well you can see what happen, just goes to show you how stupid people can be

I saw this posted a year back on a car mailing list. It happened when the bottle warmer was left on after the car was parked. I believe it is also NO2. It is a pretty cheasy way to make extra power. It's just too easy, but it's great to see Honda's blow their motors from kids using too much.

All Reference - Nitrous Oxide
"Nitrous Oxide or nitrogen (I) oxide, chemical compound, N2O, a colorless gas with a sweetish taste and odor. Its density is 1.977 grams per liter at STP. It is soluble in water, alcohol, ether, and other solvents. Although it does not burn, it supports combustion since it decomposes into oxygen and nitrogen when heated."

Holley Performance
"The use of nitrous oxide (N2O) as a performance enhancement has been traced back to World War II, where it was employed to give Allied aircraft "emergency" boosts in both airspeed and altitude capabilities."
