:sb: Pension Reform Round II - Sometime in September the Commission on Pension Reform should be presenting their lastest changes to the current pension system. The two changes circulating in the rumor mill are capping and extending the years of average. Capping refers to your annual total income which your pension would be base on, word is the cap will be placed somewhere around $100,000 to 150,000. With respect to expanding the years of service to be averaged, it is currently your last three years, the proposal has it increasing to 5, 6, or 10 years. Again, if you have 25 years of service and are 55 years old you should at least check with your respective retirement board on your current numbers.
