Video Lab?

Does anybody have a video lab setup in there dept. to view and extract video from multiplex systems? If so could you please provide an equipment list with brand names, model numbers etc....

We use REACCT for most if not all of our video enhancements and they do a great job down there in Raynham but we are looking for a way to que the tapes up before we go down so we don't have to spend the entire day down there wasting there time and ours.

I am thinking that all we would need is a good VCR, multiplexer and video monitor, anyone know if I am correct with this guesstimate?

Video Lab

Gil, I'm working for Avid Technology and we do have the Ocean System's plug ins available here on site. I know REACCT in Raynham, Woburn PD, Lowell PD, and the NH Crime Lab also have systems.

I am working on getting a users group together to promote this technology. Right now I'm working on a course. Feel free to e-mail me or call me with questions. 978-275-2061
My dept. has access to a multiplexer through a CCTV camera system. I have tried to use it to view CCTV camera tapes from numerous stores with varying degrees of success. I find that unless the multiplexers are set up the same (#of cameras and frame rate), that viewing is difficult, with images from all different cameras popping up and black screens showing where camera views should be. Is it just me, and I am too dumb to sync up the machines?

Has anyone had any experience with DVD in a similar manner?

Also, for those in Middlesex County, I believe that they have a video lab through CPAC, or whatever they area called now.

Good luck, Stay Safe.

Ocean Systems has a software application called dPlex Pro that takes multiplexed video and separates out the fields.

Here is the link:
