A veterans group is angry that a former Marine sergeant who pleaded guilty to wearing unearned medals is being allowed to volunteer at a Veterans Administration hospital in La Jolla as part of his community service.
American Combat Veterans of War co-founders William Rider and Michael Sloan tell the North County Times that the presence of David Weber at Veterans Affairs hospital is disrespectful to veterans.
Weber pleaded guilty in January to a misdemeanor violation under the Stolen Valor Act, which makes it a crime to wear unearned military ribbons or rank.
Weber was sentenced to three years' probation and 240 hours of community service. He told the North County Times that he is a greeter at the hospital and has not told any tall tales about his military service.

As I said in the case of Frisoli, he should be banished and never allowed access to these fine men, never mind be allowed to stand as a representative of the hospital!
