After getting robbed three times in the last year, a Windham, N.H., convenience store owner has taken a drastic step.
Customers at the Windham Neighborhood Variety now find the door locked and have to get checked out by owner Jignesh Patel before they're let in.
Patel says 90 percent of his customers are regulars and are allowed in quickly. Other times, he has refused to let in strangers whose faces he couldn't see clearly through the glass doors.
Patel says losing money is one thing, but he's more worried about protecting himself and making sure he can care for his wife and 4-year-old son.

Why doesn't the store owner just buy a gun (legally) and then shoot, in self defense, anyone who threatens his life?

Because he would be unfairly tarnished by the local media and lawyers as a gun wielding nut, hell bent on shooting somebody. This isn't your grandpa's old skool New Hampshire anymore. Too many liberal moonbats have fled the Commonwealth to NH and have watered down the broth, so to speak.

Thanks, HousingCop. I forget how things have changed.

That store owner is a friggin' wimp, then, and when he goes out of business because it was just too much of a pain in the ass for customers to pass inspection at his door, then I won't be crying for the guy.

So much for "LIVE FREE OR DIE" up there.
