A Penn Hills, Pennsylvania man was arrested Wednesday by Allegheny County Sheriff's deputies on charges of impersonating a deputy sheriff. James M. Gray, 39, was arrested without incident at his home on charges filed by West Homestead police, who accused him of pretending to be a deputy sheriff in that community on July 26. When Gray was arrested, deputies confiscated a badge and a reserve county deputy sheriff identification card.
Gray was arraigned on charges of harassment, making false identification to law enforcement, making false reports to police, impersonating a public servant, obstruction of justice and several motor vehicle violations, Sheriff William P. Mullen said.
