FORT WORTH - Interim Police Chief Pat Kneblick has fired two officers, including one who wore her uniform to visit two inmates at a federal prison.
Chief Kneblick announced the actions on Friday.
Lucreshia N. Carey, 22, was placed on indefinite suspension, which is tantamount to firing, on Tuesday following a meeting with Chief Kneblick.
Last May, Ms. Carey wore her police uniform to a federal prison to influence the warden to let her enter, said police spokesman Lt. Paul Henderson. Ms. Carey, who joined the department in January 2007, was not an authorized visitor and was attempting to take prohibited items to her brother and another inmate, police said.
Ms. Carey is also under federal investigation by the FBI in connection with the case.
Officer Guillermo Hernandez was indefinitely suspended Thursday following an internal probe.
Mr. Hernandez, 40, was arrested on May 17 and charged with driving while intoxicated. He was stopped in the 4700 block of Boat Club Road after he nearly struck an oncoming vehicle, police say.
Officials said Mr. Hernandez failed a field sobriety test.
His criminal case is pending.
