Two police officers were treated for carbon-monoxide poisoning Sunday after answering a call about an apparent suicide at a Fairview Drive home.
A woman called police Sunday night and said a 44-year-old man, a tenant at 24 Fairview Drive, was very depressed and that she could not get in touch with him, according to police.
Officers found the man in the garage around 9:15 p.m, police said. He was taken by ambulance to Marlborough Hospital and pronounced dead. His name has not been released pending notification of family.
"It appears to be carbon-monoxide poisoning," said Sgt. Jane Moran. "It is still under investigation by state police, but there's a strong belief it was suicide."
Officer Sean McCarthy and Sgt. Sean James, who were overcome by the fumes, were taken for treatment to Marlborough Hospital as a precaution, Moran said. They were evaluated and released yesterday at 2 a.m.
The house at 24 Fairview Drive is owned by Boston radio DJ John Garabedian. He was not home at the time and was notified by police of the death, said Moran.
