Two police cruisers involved in accidents
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Two Springfield police cruisers were involved in two separate accidents within twenty minutes of each other early Sunday morning.
Captain Eugene Dexheimer told 22News, a car crossed over the center line on Walnut Street in Six Corners crashing into officer Bernadino Lochiatto's cruiser .
The officer was treated at Baystate Medical Center for minor injuries.
Several minutes earlier, police arrested a Springfield driver after the man's car hit a cruiser in the Forest Park neighborhood at Washington Street and Commonwealth Avenue.
Police Lt. Robert Moynihan said Christopher Schofner of Carrol Street was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
