ROCKLAND -
Police are seeking an arrest warrant for a Florida man after DNA evidence allegedly linked him to a 2006 burglary.
Police said William Smith, 41, of Fort Lauderdaleleft blood at the scene of the New Year's Eve burglary at DJ's Pub on Center Avenue.
The former Rockland resident allegedly smashed a front window, stole a cash register and threw a lottery machine on the floor.
State Police were able to analyze the blood left at the scene of the break-in, and on Saturday, informed Rockland police of a DNA match to Smith.
In a separate case, police arrested a Whitman man on Saturday and charged him with felony use of another's credit card, uttering and receiving stolen property over $250.
Police said Chris Choate, 26, of 85 Hogg Memorial Driveused a stolen credit card to buy $1,400 in model train supplies in November.
The case was believed to be at a dead end, but the store owner said a suspect in the case had returned to his store on Saturday.
Police contacted the suspect, who then identified Choate as the one who supplied the credit card.
Police said Choate was cooperative and that he admitted to finding the credit card in Randolph before using it.
