ROCKLAND (WBZ) ― There have been two attempted abductions in the town of Rockland over the past week.

The most recent incident happened on Monday evening. Police say a man tried to grab an 11-year-old girl on Norman and Concord streets. The girl told police she was walking by a yard when a man came out from behind a fence and tried to take her.

She told police the man grabbed her by the arm and tried to pull her into the bushes.

The girl was able to escape the man's grasp and run home. She told police the suspect, who is described a man about 6 feet wearing a black shirt, black pants and gloves, ran off toward the Harmon Golf Club.

Just one day earlier, police received a call regarding a small red Chevy sedan that was driving back and forth on West Water Street. The caller told police there were two men inside the car looking at children.

Police responded to the scene, but were unable to find the car.

On Oct. 6, just one week ago, police say they responded to a report that a 7-year-old girl was approached by a man while she was playing outside at her West Water Street home.
