I'm moving to a small apartment in VT and need to rent a truck. I thought U-Haul was the way to go until I seen the .89 cents per mile which would put me well over $300 which seems steep for one day. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm going to call Ryder, Verc, and Enterprise Tuesday and find out who will give me a better deal on a cargo van. U-Haul and Budgets prices for a trip to VT and back were so outrageous I felt violated!

Just for the record... i found VERC to be the cheapest for a cargo van. I gave up on the box truck which probably would have been overkill. VERC has unlimited mileage in New England, while UHAUL, Penske, and Ryder all charge .89 cents per mile in addittion to their flat fee, and Enterprise gives you 150 miles, plus .25 cents per mile after that.

Good info for you guys who get fed up with MA and eventually move on to another New England state! :85565:
