Public Safety Telecommunicators

The Town of Westford is seeking qualified Telecommuicators for combined public safety communication operations for their Police, Fire, and EMS. The position is responsible for receiving 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency telephone calls, maintaining communications with both police, fire and EMS personnel via radio, and receiving walk-in reports from the general public. Other functions include providing EMD, receiving and transmitting fire alarms, as well as deploying law enforcement, fire and ambulance personnel and related equipment.
Applicants with CJIS, E9-1-1, Emergency Medical Dispatch, APCO PST1, C.P.R. training and certification, experience as a police and/or fire alarm operator, knowledge of computer aided dispatch systems, and those seeking a career in emergency communications will be given preference. All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background investigation and achieve certification in all of the above and must be available to work all shifts, holidays and weekends, must be a non-smoker and should reside within 20 miles border to border. This is a civilian position.

Hourly wage range: $20.13 to $26.25
