How does MSP feel about troopers going into cities and doing their own investigations, ie. making warrant arrests, patroling in cities or do they like it better if you stay on the road. Also how do city cops feel about troopers giving them backup? and vice versa

"Thank god for the state police" is usually what we are thinking when getting dispatched to a multiple car accident on 95. I say the more they merrier, I welcome troopers running through Attleboro conducting what ever LE they see fit. Personally I think city and town police should stick to local roads and protect and serve the citizens paying their salaries.

LOL In some towns out here the MSP are the local police. In other towns that do have full time depts they always welcome msp help. I know B-4 cars back Adams,North Adams,Williamstown cars all the time since on most shifts those depts only have 2 or 3 cars on the road.With all thats been going on in pittsfield it is now very common to see msp backing ppd on calls. Not sure how it is in other parts of the state but in western mass it seems like everyone is on the same team.

We have had the MSP show up a few times at our college. I never have a problem with it. Always more than happy to see them. I welcome the help from them anytime.

THis shouldn't even be a question, but in LE egos are always an issue. All cops need to get on the same page but easier said then done

You know in this day and age, where the respect for Police officers, the courts, the system is sinking with each passing year. I really don't CARE what it says on the doors, the patch, the badge. If someone stops and offers me assistance or I slow down and check if they are OK, that's the name of the game. That is the true thin blue line, that's the way it was meant to be. Departments are not problems, it's just everyonce in a while you meet a jerk, don't fault the department. I think in time of need, no cop would care if the State or anyone else came in to help.

Most officers wouldn't complain but I can guarantee you this. If it was an Aux officer who came to assist the union would be complaining big time.
Let's be real to some officers it's all about ego and to more it's about the $$$$.
