In a way he was correct. They no longer make the stretched version of the Crown Vic which was available as a tacxi cab version, I believe 6 inches longer. That was not a P71 package, P70 body style available (commercial/fleet): rear seats gain 6" of legroom.

Is there a possibility that they will appropriate for an 80th in the FY2008 Budget that the governor will be proposing at the end of this month if the Sup. budget doesn't fly?

Don't hate, there are other folks that do the same thing in your departments, just can't hate the guy for making new changes for this state. It will get better, give the guy a chance.

I thought I heard they had gotten down to around 96.

I believe that they are at 95's now. There are still some higher deferrment scores but I think overall they are at 95 now.

Does anybody have any credible info as to whether they plan to appropriate for a class or are you just carrying on the rumors that you have heard?

It's a common political scam. 1,000 police officers doesn't mean a thousand additional faces running around on the street. Over his term in office a thousand police officers will retire or resign, and the municipalities and the State Police will replace them. Devalue can then claim to have put 1,000 new cops on the street.

Ouch! On the list of bad decisions to make, that one would be on top...

Just curious...were you trying to get your finances in order prior to the SPA? That seems to be the number one reason people deferred, sans military deployments.

79th graduated a handful of 98s and 97s, majority were 96s and a handful of 95s. I can proudly say I was a 96 that graduated from the 79th, was on standby, then was handed my letter of appointment at orientation the week before the academy started. How sweet it was

I have a buddy who was a 99 and graduated from the 79th........ he had some hurdles at home but looke like he did the right thing by jumping onboard for the 79th......
