An El Paso police officer was sent to the hospital, following an overnight accident.
It happened on Montana Avenue near Brown Street just before 12:30 Wednesday. The officer was dispatched to the area to assist another officer on a call when he lost control of his police cruiser and slammed into some bushes.
Police blocked off the area until a tow truck pulled the car out of the shrubbery. The damage was pretty extensive to the front and back of the vehicle.
Police say the officers injuries were non-life-threatening and he was taken to Thomason Hospital.
Police suspect the accident was weather related because the roads were slick at the time from the rain.
