Texas Officer Dies After Being Bit by Feral Cat A West Texas A&M University police officer died Tuesday after being bitten by a feral cat two week ago while responding to a call. Cpl. Monty Dale Platt suffered complications following a severe reaction to a medicine prescribed to prevent infections from the bite, according to The Amarillo Globe-News. Platt was taken to an urgent care center last Thursday after he reported not feeling well because of the reaction to the medication.
