September 29, 2008
Two residents of Southlake, Texas, were arrested early yesterday in front of the Boston Harbor Hotel, accused of assaulting three police officers and using racist language with members of the hotel staff.
Jennifer Miller, 36, and John Miller, 41, were charged with disturbing the peace, assault and battery on a police officer, and trespassing.
Jennifer Miller also was charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, a shod foot.
Officers were called to the Millers' room to assist hotel security in escorting unruly guests off the property about 1:30 a.m.
Police said the duo continued to use derogatory language toward officers and staff while in their room, and were taken to the hotel lobby.
"John brushed up and continued to push into officers to instigate," said Officer Eddy Chrispin of Boston police. "The woman also kicked an officer at the booking desk."
An officer received a minor scratch to the hand, according to police.
The hotel did not report any damage to the room in which the Millers had been staying.
The two are to be arraigned today in Boston Municipal Court.
