MASHANTUCKET, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut state troopers say they have arrested a Tennessee man on charges of conspiring to run a betting scam with casino dealers.
Police say the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Resort casinos lost almost $70,000 in the cheating scam, which has been under investigation since late 2007.
They say 42-year-old Richard S. Taylor of Memphis was charged this week cheating at gambling, conspiracy and first-degree larceny.
Police say about 12 more people also will face charges in the conspiracy.
They say casino dealers allegedly paid players for late bets, then collected payments later from those winners in return for the favor.
Information was not immediately available Friday night on whether Taylor had an attorney. He is scheduled to appear Sept. 10 in New London Superior Court.
