A Taunton man was recently arrested, as he was accused of pretending to be a police officer.

Authorities told NBC 10 News that 57-year-old Seth Amidon impersonated an officer to a Coyle and Cassidy High School student. He told the student to get back into school for "safety reasons."

Callers informed police that they heard the man claiming a dangerous convict had escaped and was in the area.

When police later arrested Amidon, they said they found a pellet gun in his car.

Amidon is being charged with impersonating an officer, as well as disorderly conduct.
