LEOMINSTER --Members of the North Worcester County Drug Task Force arrested a Methuen woman and a Roxbury man after allegedly finding 80 grams of cocaine in their car in the area of Mechanic and Spruce streets.
Police had to break the window of the car after seeing the male passenger, Mario Villar, who allegedly refused to exit the vehicle, reach toward his waist, Leominster Detective Joseph L. Siciliano Jr. wrote in a report.
"In his right hand Villar was holding a clear plastic bag the size of a baseball with numerous bags of cocaine," he wrote. "Villar started fighting with police as we tried to cuff him and refused to open his hand, and started breaking the bags on the tar."
Siciliano reported the task force received a tip the pair would be in the area delivering cocaine, and officers spotted their car driving slowly through the area before stopping them
Driver Yohanny Perez, of Methuen, also allegedly refused to get out of the car, Siciliano wrote. Both are charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug law. Villar is also charged with resisting arrest. They are expected to be arraigned Friday in Leominster District Court.
