Upset diner charged with taking a bite of officer
HYANNIS - A Hyannis woman, accused of tossing a table at a waitress and biting a police officer, pleaded innocent in Barnstable District Court today.
Penny Knight, 34, allegedly became upset when she was refused outdoor service at the Roasted Red Pepper on Main Street around 10 p.m. Friday. According to the police report, Knight tossed a table at a waitress and was screaming as plates, glasses and cutlery clattered to the ground. Staff from the restaurant called Barnstable police.

When Officer Scott Kynoch arrived at the restaurant, Knight was waiting outside, said Sgt. Arthur Caiado.

"She stuck her head through the window of the cruiser yelling and screaming, and when Officer Kynoch got out of the car, she charged him," said Caiado. Officer John Murphy arrived as Kynoch was trying to subdue Knight, said Caiado. "She turned around and bit Murphy," he said.

Knight pleaded innocent to two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, assault with a dangerous weapon - the table - as well as malicious destruction of property under $250, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

This story prompts me to ask this question. Is any officer hear experiencing an increase in female crime where they work?
The last several arrest I have has been females becoming assaultive and out of control. In fact the last two public car jackings on the news were done by females.
