A 24-year-old New Haven man was arraigned today in 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore on charges he shot a village police officer in both hands last weekend.
Andrew Polsgrove entered a not guilty plea to three counts of assault with intent to commit murder and three counts of felony firearm. If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of life in prison, according to court officials.
Judge Paul Cassidy set a $1-million bond. A preliminary exam is scheduled for Sept. 29.
Polsgrove is accused of shooting Derek Reed at approximately 2 a.m. Saturday when Reed and partner David Fajardo responded to reports he was firing a long rifle in the Meadow Creek Mobile Home Park.
