TSP,

The problem you are going to run into is without a degree it is going to be pretty hard to get a waiver to get your special state police warrant. Most departments at minimum use that for their arrest powers. Some departments just use Sheriffs powers. Some state colleges you get your power from the board of trustees. I know the waiver process allows years experience as a substitution, but I do not have the link for it.
