Sheriff Cabrall I guess is actually making steps to getting Sheriff's powers back to campuses. Yesterday I had to drop off some paperwork at the Suffolk Sheriff's dept and the front desk officer knew exactly what it was; something to do with the powers. I ask my supervisor and he said there are rumors floating around about where and when but nothing official to his knowledge.

Well, from what I know (not a lot) the officers have already requested their powers and it's just a matter of swearing in...

I am guessing that it's like that for all campuses unless they are doing one by one rather than one massive event.

I thought BU, Harvard and MIT all have their sheriff powers. Did that change, do they only have SSPO warrants now ? :?:
They probably did. When I was at NU every-time there was a new Sheriff, you had to be re-sworn in. It is up to each Sheriff individually to actually do it or not.

500 officers supposedly were there today from various depts. Didn't seem like that many to me however. Oh well. Power is restored to those that need it :)

Looked like about three hundred to me. Had a good time met a lot of good old boys and some girls I hadn't seen in a long time. Never hurts to meet others I might add. Best part was it was well organized, short and sweet.

Think so? who knows, I am bad at estimating amounts of people! But yea it was short and sweet. I was the kid in plain clothes with a camera because someone at the dept asked for me to take a group picture afterwards but it started raining :(

I thought it was going to be in a gym and everyone standing in formation like a graduation hahaha...I was waaaayyy off. :D

Most Campus P.O. do and should get sworn in by the Sheriff. The reason that it has not been happening lately is that there are political things going on within the SC Dept. Many Deputys at Nashau Jail were stripped of there Deputy status and I think the Shriff was laying low until that all cleared up. I heard it was happening soon as well.
