A woman has been charged with assault after she allegedly sicced her 120-pound boxer on the town's animal control officer.
Nancy E. Finn, 49, of 40 Brock St. pleaded innocent Monday in Stoughton District Court to charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, a dog; disorderly conduct; resisting arrest; assault and battery on a public employee; assault to intimidate; and threatening to commit a crime.
Judge Francis T. Crimmins released Finn on personal recognizance and a pretrial hearing was set for Nov. 14.
At 8:52 p.m. Friday, Animal Control Officer Kristin Bousquet went to Finn's house to explain the town's dog-control bylaws, Executive Officer Robert Devine of the Stoughton police said.
Devine said Bousquet was responding to complaints about Finn's dog running loose.
"She apparently didn't like being told, so she sicced the dog on the animal control officer. The dog got up onto her but never latched onto her," Devine said.
Bousquet was not injured, police said.
Finn, shouting profanities, confronted Bousquet at her front door and allegedly told the boxer to "get her," according to police Sgt. Vitaly Gurevich's report.
Bousquet radioed police for help, Gurevich said.
Police said they had to drag Finn to the police cruiser. She also threatened to shoot police who show up at her doorstep, Gurevich said.
