does the MSP STOP team just work that or are they deployed in other units and are called out? What is the criteria for getting on and how tough is it?

Almost all of the members are assigned a patrol function for their regular assignments. They are on call 24/7 for response to incidents. All members must go thru a selection process that consists of three phases including PT and Firearms. It's a competetive process.

To my knowledge no females have ever tried out for the team.
