State Police Tally Citations
The Executive Office of Public Safety's Governor's Highway Safety Bureau along with the Massachusetts State Police have released the results of this year's Road Respect mobilization that occurred earlier this month.
State police issued a total of 2,112 citations during the two-week effort.
The drive was meant to target aggressive drivers. The most cited offense was speeding, with 1,445 citations issued, along with 245 warnings.
Also, troopers assigned to the mobilization made 23 arrests during the campaign, including 18 for suspended or revoked licenses.
In addition, there were 294 seat belt violations issued.
