STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) - A 29-year-old Stamford man had admitted hitting his 6-month-old daughter.
Jayron Berganza pleaded guilty Friday to risk of injury to a child. Police say Berganza had shoved a bottle into the infant's mouth so hard it left a bruise.
Berganza also admitted violating probation, which he was one month away from completing at the time of the incident.
The prosecutor says Berganza and his wife took their daughter to Stamford Hospital on Feb. 11, 2007, because she was crying and vomiting.
When the hospital examined her, they found a hand-shaped bruise on her back and a bruise on her mouth. None of the injuries was permanent.
Under a plea agreement,he faces up to five years in prison when he's sentenced in September.
