Police Commission Chair Resigns
SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS
(WWLP, March 23, 2003) The chair of Springfield's police commission has resigned. A lawyer for Gerald Phillips told the Springfield Union News yesterday that Phillips is resigning from his post on the commission. Phillips is also the executive director of the Massachusetts Career Development Institute. Phillips's lawyer says he'll request administrative leave from that job as well. Phillips was arrested 2 days ago and charged with threatening a witness in an FBI investigation into MCDI.
