This is shocking to hear, happening so close to the death of Chief Maloney of Greenland, NH. Condolences to his family.
The news said he was killed by a Corrections Officer from Rikers Islands N.Y.
36 years of service and to have something like this happen to him.... it's just not right.
May he rest in peace.

NY correction dept. "saddened" by Mass. cop slay
NEW YORK (AP) - The New York City Department of Correction is offering its condolences to the family of a Springfield, Mass. police officer who was fatally shot by a correction officer from New York who took his own life.
Correction Commissioner Dora Schriro released a statement Monday night saying the department was "shocked and saddened" by the events.
Authorities say Officer Kevin Ambrose was fatally shot in a domestic violence call by 35-year-old Shawn Bryan, who killed himself after critically wounding a woman.
A correction department spokeswoman says Bryan began working with the department in August 2009 and was assigned to Rikers Island. She says he had been scheduled to return to his post on Tuesday.
Ambrose, a 36-year veteran, is the first Springfield officer killed on duty in nearly 27 years.
