Suspect in Mass. shooting caught in NY

SPRINGFIELD - A suspect in the shotgun slaying of a Springfield man has been apprehended in upstate New York.
Authorities say 28-year-old Steven Rafael Gonzalez was arrested by federal marshals on Tuesday in Syracuse, N.Y. after Springfield and West Springfield police developed information that Gonzalez was in that area.
Gonzalez is a suspect in the slaying last month of 31-year-old Alexander Gautier. Police say Gautier's body was found on Oct. 17 behind an apartment block on Locust St. He died of a shotgun wound.
Gonzalez is being held in New York as a fugitive and will eventually be extradited back to Springfield.
