Steven Rafael Gonzalez , 28, of Springfield, is wanted for murder

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield police have named a suspect in the murder of a city man gunned down Friday night.
Detectives have issued a murder warrant for 28 year-old Steven Rafael Gonzalez of Springfield.
He is wanted for the murder of 31 year-old Alexander Gautier. Gautier was shot in the face Friday night on Locust Street.
Investigators believe Gonzalez is still in the Springfield area. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Gonzalez you are urged to call the Springfield Police Department at 787-6355.

Suspect in Mass. shooting caught in NY

SPRINGFIELD - A suspect in the shotgun slaying of a Springfield man has been apprehended in upstate New York.
Authorities say 28-year-old Steven Rafael Gonzalez was arrested by federal marshals on Tuesday in Syracuse, N.Y. after Springfield and West Springfield police developed information that Gonzalez was in that area.
Gonzalez is a suspect in the slaying last month of 31-year-old Alexander Gautier. Police say Gautier's body was found on Oct. 17 behind an apartment block on Locust St. He died of a shotgun wound.
Gonzalez is being held in New York as a fugitive and will eventually be extradited back to Springfield.
