I received a pocket guide in the academy but it was junk. Conversely, The Community Spanish for Law Enforcement Field Guide (pocket sized) which contains direct translations for the most common terms and phrases law enforcement officers may need on the street. Translations are rapidly accessible by tabs that are organized by incident and crime type.
The author, Paul Madera, is a WNEC (WNEU) Adjunct Professor and the acting Chief for Ludlow PD. He's a very squared away guy and his Spanish for LE course assisted me greatly both on the street and in booking when the arrested exercised their right to a phone call.
