    The South Hadley Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of full-time Police Dispatcher. We are seeking experienced individuals who are highly motivated with strong communication skills, are computer literate, able to multi-task, and have a community policing philosophy.

    The South Hadley Police Department consists of twenty-seven (27) full-time officers, 4 full-time dispatchers, 3 part-time dispatchers and civilian clerical staff. The department utilizes the latest E911 technologies, IMC CAD systems, IMC mobile data terminals, PowerPhone EMD and Motorola Radio Communications.

    The successful candidates must be willing to work any and all shifts, which includes weekends and holidays. Responsibilities include receiving emergency and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire and EMS service, dispatching public safety personnel as neededm greeting the public and other related duties.
    The full-time starting salary is $15.92 per hour - increased to $16.92 per hour upon successful completion of a six month probationary period. Increased starting salary consideration is given to trained and certified Police/Fire/EMS Emergency Dispatchers. Full-time salary is based on 12 hour shifts during a two week work cycle with every other three day weekend off (Fri, Sat, Sun).
