WRENTHAM - A one-car rollover on Interstate 495 Wednesday is being blamed on a sofa.

The driver told state police she swerved to avoid the sofa, in the middle travel lane on I-495 heading north, near Route 1A, around 3:09 p.m., state police spokesman Trooper Thomas Murphy said Wednesday night.

The driver received minor injuries after Wrentham firefighters extricated her from her 2003 Chevy Trail Blazer, which was against the guardrail along the high-speed lane, just past the Route 1A off-ramp, Wrentham Fire Capt. Michael Heinz said.

The driver, whose name was not available, was taken by Wrentham ambulance to the Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford, Heinz said.

Traffic was backed up for about a mile for roughly 30 minutes, Heinz said. The breakdown lane and right travel lane were open during this period.
