...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING TO THURSDAY
AFTERNOON...

A SIGNIFICANT LATE SEASON SNOWFALL IS POSSIBLE TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY
MORNING ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND.

THIS WINTER STORM WATCH INCLUDES NORTHEAST CONNECTICUT AND ALL OF
RHODE ISLAND EXCEPT FOR BLOCK ISLAND. IN MASSACHUSETTS...THE WATCH
INCLUDES ALL COUNTIES SOUTH OF THE MASSACHUSETTS TURNPIKE...EXCLUDING
THE CITY OF BOSTON AND CAPE COD AND THE ISLANDS.

LOW PRESSURE OVER THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AT MIDDAY WAS BEGINNING TO
WEAKEN. MEANWHILE...A COASTAL LOW WAS DEVELOPING ALONG THE VIRGINIA
COAST. THIS COASTAL LOW WILL INTENSIFY AS IT MOVES NORTHEAST THIS
AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...PASSING OVER THE WATERS SOUTH OF NEW ENGLAND.
BY THURSDAY MORNING THE LOW WILL BE ABOUT 150 MILES SOUTH OF
NANTUCKET...HOWEVER THIS STORM TRACK IS CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE REGION TO
BRING THE POTENTIAL OF 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW...POSSIBLY MORE ACROSS
THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF CONNECTICUT AND RHODE ISLAND.

RAIN...SNOW AND OR SLEET WILL BEGIN TO OVERSPREAD THE WATCH AREA FROM
SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.
THE PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO ALL SNOW AS THE EVENING PROGRESSES.
SNOW MAY FALL HEAVY AT TIMES TONIGHT INTO EARLY THURSDAY MORNING.

THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY REGARDING THIS DEVELOPING LATE SEASON
WINTER STORM. IF THIS AFTERNOONS FORECASTS INDICATES A SIGNIFICANT
SNOWFALL APPEARS MORE CERTAIN...A WINTER STORM WARNING WILL BE
ISSUED. HOWEVER...IF LESS SNOW IS EXPECTED...A WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY WILL BE ISSUED.

THIS STATEMENT WILL BE UPDATED AGAIN LATER THIS AFTERNOON.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO AND OTHER LOCAL MEDIA FOR FURTHER
DETAILS OR UPDATES.

A WINTER STORM WATCH IS ISSUED FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW OF 6 OR MORE
INCHES IN THE NEXT 12 HOURS OR 8 OR MORE INCHES IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
ANYONE TRAVELING IN THE NEXT 24 TO 36 HOURS SHOULD MONITOR LATER
FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO MODIFY TRAVEL PLANS SHOULD WINTER
WEATHER DEVELOP.

A WINTER STORM WATCH CONTINUES FOR MOST AREAS ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE
MASSACHUSETTS TURNPIKE. SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION ARE
POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND TONIGHT. THERE IS POTENTIAL
FOR 6 INCHES OR MORE OF ACCUMULATION TONIGHT...ESPECIALLY IN THE
HIGHLANDS OF NORTHERN CONNECTICUT...NORTHWEST RHODE ISLAND...AND
ADJACENT SECTIONS OF MASSACHUSETTS. PLEASE SEE BOSWSWBOX FOR MORE
DETAILS.

NORTHEAST WINDS OVER CAPE COD AND THE ISLANDS TONIGHT MAY INCREASE TO
25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH. A WIND ADVISORY MAY BE ISSUED FOR
THIS AREA.

A GALE WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL COASTAL WATERS EXCEPT BOSTON
HARBOR AND NARRAGANSETT BAY.

See, down here in Fairfield Co. we've had very little snow (well, in comparison from when I lived in NH) and I've been very disappointed. So unless we get a foot down here this is going to be, yet another, non-event.

I'll keep your "Snow disappointments" in mind. Next year when we get alot of snow, I'll give you a call and you can come up and shovel this wonderful stuff called snow for me. OK? :wink:

Yeah I would..but I'm real close to herniating one of my disks...and I need to keep in good shape for PT's...so I don't think it's going to work out that way. Sorry buddy! But the offer is up if you would like to come here and shovel our "snow"... :)

You know, I've gotten quite tired of the snow, so much that every time it snows again I have completely given up on shoveling my sidewalk. Now that all the snow has finally melted in front of my house, here we F***ING go again. I am SO sick of it!!!!

Florida is looking better and better all the time.
