[Curious EMT]

So, for you troopers assigned non-typical cruisers...

1) Do you prefer them over the standard setup CV for space, comfort, and the fun of blending in with traffic?

2) Ever have a problem moving through heavy/ stopped traffic or getting a vehicle to pull over due to less visibility / unsurness of your authenticity as a LEO.

3) And the main point of my post. What are some of the funniest / stupidist things you see our there that you wouldnt see in a normal marked cruiser?
I remember one bone-head movement I did... Cruising at about 75 in a 65 on 95 South near 295, I came up behind a lumina with blue lights on the rear deck and one of those cell-phone-look-like antennas drilled into the trunk. Knowing it was a cruiser i slowed to his 70mph and backed off. Got a cell phone call, and like a tool, lost my memory about him, and started to pass him at 75. I looked right, saw the look in his face, remembered why I didnt wanna pass him, gave him a curtious smile and nod, and backed off again.. Definatetly in the top-10 most stupid things i've done.
ANYWAYS, got any good stories???

IM sure they see no diffrent then what we see everyday on the roadways, with the exception being they have the authority to pull you over. I think you should have said what things do you see in a normal police cruiser that you wouldn't think of seeing :?: I would think if anyone has good stories it would be MBTA police or EPO's because to the lay public IM sure most people don't understand that MBTA police or EPO's have chap. 90. IM sure most find out the hard way. My view is that if you see any vehicle with the letters that make up the word POLICE then you shouldn't even attempt anything stupid because they enforce the law regardless of chap 90 or not.

What I find funny is how IM driving down 95 and IM traveling anywhere between 65 - 75 MPH in the middle lane and in the left lane you have people that exceed 75+. While in the middle lane as IM driving cars are flying by at least 75+ cause I was doing 70 and they were whizzin passed me. I see an 18 wheeler behind me and as he slows down to get into the right lane, a State Police Cruiser quickly pulls in front of me. My guess is he just came of the ramp and started to merge into traffic but the 18 wheeler was hiding him. I of course quickly look to my left lane to see how the left lane drivers are doing. They dramatically dropped there speed and most pulled into the middle lane behind me. Then you always have that one driver who has not figured it out yet why the left lane got shut down to the posted speed limit. I see in my rear view mirror he's flashing his high beams and wheeling on his horn because he can't take going the speed limit. Mean while the State Trooper is still in the middle lane. At this time the driver saw his oppertunity as the right lane was wide open. You quickly see him dart from the left all the way across, no blinkers, no nothing and start seeing him approaching me. IM laughing my @$$ off at this point. I mean come on guy, its so obvious that theres a reason why the left lane is going so slow. I mean yes, sometimes you just have that driver that slows people down in the left lane but he either moves over or people start passing him. So sure enough as IM still laughing and waiting for the driver to pass me on the right side. I look over and just watch as the driver passes my car, he quickly hits the brakes. :L: Now IM just waiting to see if any action is going to take place. Sure enough the State Trooper pulls into the right lane. Meanwhile that driver is now 4 car Lengths back, proberly ](*,) I see the Trooper pull all the way into the break down lane and as that car passed, bam the lights lit up and the Trooper made the stop. Now all the driver can do is [-o<

The best one I saw was on the Pike. I was driving through Newton/Weston around 2300 one night when some bimbo in a SAAB is zig zagging just before the toll booths, cutting people off to find the quickest line. I have fast lane so I went right though. As I'm driving, here comes the bimbo flying at 75+ and goes around me and cuts in front of me rather close and zips away... As I watch her push 80 it looks like she's gonna rear-end a car in front of her and zig zags right around it. This is where I started laughing hysterically. The car she nearly rammed and zipped around was a CLEARLY marked State Police Car (light bar and all). There was a pause from the Trooper as he braked slightly, probably asking WTF?... then he lights it up.. the Bimbo is too busy talking on her celly and takes a good 1/2 mile to realize what's happening. Wish I could've heard that "Driver contact" session.
