Foot in the door for someone. Especially if they are certified dispatcher through the state training. They might as well drop those money wasting psych tests we all do. 567 question joke of a test. To have a quack whos probably a part time diddler say im not 'fit for the job'

If you're referring to the MMPI, I'll agree it's a strange test to take, but it does have a very high degree of validity/reliability in screening psychopathy.

Is the validity based on truthful answers? I know there's "lie" questions designed to pick out someone BSing the test (because I flagged one, no - I wouldn't sneak into a god damn $9 movie even if I know I wouldn't get caught), but it seems like someone trying to pass the test could easily BS it.

If I were hearing voices, and were trying to be a cop, I'd have the sense to say NO, I don't hear voices others can't.

Yeah. Also amazes me the meatballs that pass, but once they hit the street they lose all confidence and common sense.

I believe that is the exact purpose of the test. I was told that something like 85% of people answer the questions defensively, a.k.a. are BSing it. I believe the test is designed to find the true psychopaths/sociopaths not the people who just 'meatballs.' That's just the interpretation I got when talking to the shrink after the exam.

I think a few of my co-workers must have been excused from taking the test:rolleyes:
